Can't wait. Doom Eternal was a great power rush, a speedrunner and movement enthusiasts dream.

neatfeatguyAlright, here comes Hexen!

Hell yeah. It looks like I'm not the only one who thought this was an indirect throwback to Heretic & Hexen.

Super excited for this, I loved both 2016 and Eternal and I've been patiently waiting in order to try out something new since i practically did everything for Eternal on Ultra Nightmare lol

The only troubling thing is the GPU requirement, I wonder if my 2060 will be able to handle it at all if the minimum is a 2060 super, now with the RTX 5000s release i'll be keeping track of ebay for any great used deals since i am pretty sure more folks will be selling their old RTX 3000s cards or even 4000s cards now in order to upgrade.

Yes. Come on, we all knew that was coming.

freeagentRight? Even Indiana Jones would like 12700K or 7700X.

It's the same engine. Hence mandatory RT card.

Is it really? Didn't know that. Interesting..

I will not believe it until I see it, because that suggests a Ryzen 3700 will perform better than a Ryzen 9600X.

Depends. It might. Unlikely, but it is possible if the devs focusing on bifurcated process threading.

10 bucks says it will run fine on a 3600 and it also wont actually need 16 gb of ram

They probably say eight cores minimum just to prevent any bottlenecking to get high FPS. I'm pretty sure this can still run on a Steam Deck (Zen 2 quad-core) at a locked 60 FPS to 90 FPS just like Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal.

I would look at how Indiana Jones performs on the steakdeck this will likely be similar both require RT capable hardware.

Not that good. To even get 30 FPS in you need to be at 800x500 and use upscaling:

While I expect this to be more optimized for fast paced twitch shooting it requiring RT is going to make weak/first generation RT cards sweat pretty badly is my guess.

watch the AMD 7600x run way past 60 FPS at either 1404p or 4k

This is the part where we pay the price for our cut down version of the flagship.. it is always sad.

I am not sure about that.. its pretty heavy.

Indiana Jones worked pretty well on midrange rdna 2 and above I don't think it's unreasonable for a 2025 game to require 2018 or newer level hardware it's just seems more recent because amd didn't properly support it till 2020 and really 2022..... 6700XT and above are fine for 1080p. I can't remember what min Turing card you need I know 2080ti is around 80fps with supreme settings at 1080p

yeah, I saw PCGH benchmarks (and you know the German's have no love for Indy!) and it looked like one of the games the Intel Ultra line does well on. Still they got into the 70's FPS avg with the i5-10400 and lows in the 60's with it. Not saying it's not heavy just the wording or "core" instead of "performance" is awkward and can confuse people who don't understand the difference.

I think the minimum requirement stating that an RT card and 8-core CPU is required is just to keep up with the times (e.g. paper requirements), at least for Doom. The developers of Indiana Jones didn't really aim their game at weaker devices like Windows/SteamOS handhelds so thats why its bad.

2016 style MP or Eternal style? Please be 2016. I didn't see any mention of it.

#23

Dam. This is the first game i have seen ask for minimum 8 cores/16 threads as minimum system requirements.

The beginning of the end where 6 cores/12 Threads was enough. Well guess Hexa core will be faced out just quad-core did it before that. But still feel it quite steep demand for minimum.

Speed looked closer to Eternal. But I really hope it won't have the rainbow confetti drops, those were awful as far as I was concerned.

People want better graphics, and then complain about system requirements.

Funny isn't it?
